England international netball player hosts a training session under her expert eye

| England International Netball Player, Tamsin Greenway, visited a Shropshire school to give pupils a training session under her expert eye. A strong leader both on and off the court, Tamsin visited Ellesmere College to provide basic netball skills and attacking play training sessions for the 1st, 2nd, U15A and U14A teams. A current England International, Tamsin has been in the squad since 2004 and has over 40 caps. She played in the 2007 World Championships in New Zealand and most recently, was part of the bronze medal winning side at the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. After some impressive international form and performances, Tamsin was also selected for the World Netball Team in 2009; a selection of the best International players in the world. Tamsin said, "It's lovely to be asked to host a few sessions at Ellesmere College. I have heard a lot of good things about the school and everyone seems to have enjoyed my sessions. All the netball teams were really keen to learn a few new skills and I think they will all have a good season this year" As current Storm Captain, the move proved a success with the team narrowly missing out in the Super League Grand Final live on Sky Sports in only their 2nd year. Tamsin began her career in 2002 with the University based franchise Team Bath. After 8 years and 4 titles the Vice Captain decided to move to the newly formed franchise Surrey Storm in 2010 to focus on different challenges. Head of PE Helen Davenport said, "We have regular guest coaches from international teams that visit the college and it's great to have Tamsin taking a few sessions. She is at the top of her sport in both playing and coaching and our teams really enjoyed the sessions on attacking play." |
